Tim Stein, 68, passed away unexpectedly on December 16, 2022, at his home in Cape Neddick, Maine.
As stated in his obituary “Tim cared deeply about his friends and community. He was one of the earliest board members of GLAD (Boston). He was a tremendous supporter of the New England LGBTQ community. And, since 2017, Tim served on the Frannie Peabody Center Board of Directors and was instrumental in naming the “The Wayne Fette HIV Testing and Prevention Program”, following the legacy gift he made in Wayne’s memory.”
Several years ago, Tim added Harbor to the Bay as a way to honor the memory of Wayne Fette, his partner of 35 years. Tim donated funds to help first-time Riders meet their ride minimums and equaled the monies raised on our annual Cyber Friday with a donation directed to the H2B General Fund.
Our 19th Ride was comprised of small, but mighty, short loops in Boston and Ptown. It happened that it was the one ride Tim attended. He joined us at Club Café and sat in the outdoor seating under a Harbor to the Bay canopy he had donated in honor of Wayne. He was enthralled by the energy and sense of community exhibited by our riders and crew.
This generosity will continue for our 2023 ride in memory of Tim and Wayne as their estate will again sponsor scholarships for first-time Riders, and will donate $1 to the General Fund for each $1 raised on Cyber Friday, up to $21,000.
