Safety is of the utmost importance during the Harbor to the Bay Ride. Please make sure you review all the safety videos before the ride.
Here are some important reminders.
- ALWAYS ride Single File.
- Ride as far to the right as safely possible.
- Follow all requests made by Police and other officials. We have police details at some points on the Cape who will be stopping traffic to assist us getting across some intersections. Please follow their directions. Don’t forget to thank them.
- In Massachusetts when you are on the road you are a motor vehicle. That means you obey all traffic laws.
- Make sure you come to a complete stop at all stop signs
- Stop for pedestrians that are in cross walks.
- Obey all traffic lights.
- No riding with Bluetooth or earbuds. If you are using Strava or Ride with GPS to follow the route please use your speaker on your phone.
- Keep one hand on your handlebars at all times.
- Helmets are Required when you are riding.
- Reminder ALWAYS ride Single File. We are on a lot of very narrow roads so I cannot emphasize this enough.
- When passing another rider only pass on the left and make sure you call out on your left while passing them.
- Use Hand Signals to signal turns and stopping
- Call out when you are stopping.
- No Pace Lines or Drafting. Leave Space between you and the rider in front of you.
- AGAIN Ride Single File
